The Desert Diva The most important prayer of the week is the weekly congregational prayer named Jumu’ah. This take the place of the Dhuhr prayer on Fridays and almost all Muslim men, from Sheikhs to farm labourers, will attend. In the UAE the sermon is broadcast from the Sheikh Zayed Mosque to the larger mosques in the Emirate; Jumu’ah prayer is not held in the small neighbourhood mosques.
Today’s picture is of the largest mosque on Delma Island – they will certainly hold Friday prayers there!
