I’ve mentioned that fasting during Ramadan is one of the five pillars of Islam, another one is for followers to “make a declaration of faith in One God and that Muhammad PBOH is a prophet of God.” Islam and Christianity are Abrahamic religions – in my research for this post I came across this website which compares them – and although there are differences in our beliefs there are a surprising number of similarities. In Scotland we have a saying “We’re All Jock Tamson’s Bairns” (we are all John Thomson’s Children) which we take to convey “we’re all God’s children”.
Today’s mosque is one we snapped when visiting the Archaeological Park at Salalah.
Wishing all our Muslim friends “Ramadan Kareem”. May this Holy Month be a blessed one for you and your families.
