21 Ramadan 1435: 19 July 2014

Ramadan is the Holiest month of the Islamic calendar and the last 10 days are very special – the Laylat Al Qadr (the Night of Destiny) will fall on one of the nights.  There are special night prayers throughout Ramadan and this is a Muslim’s “best opportunity to receive pardons, forgiveness and unlimited rewards” ; this is the theme of today’s sermon at Jumah prayers.

To quote the National Newspaper

“It is believed this was the night when the Quran was revealed, hence the rewards of worship on this night are worth more than during 1,000 months. The exact date of Laylat Al Qadr was not revealed, the Prophet Mohammed mentioned only that it was in the last 10 days of Ramadan.”
